Case Study: EHL Consulting recently completed an Inventory of Fund Resource Development with an organization that provides fitness, recreational, educational and athletic therapy programs for children and adults with physical disabilities. We conducted interviews with the Board and senior staff and put the fact finding results in line with best practices in fundraising to revise the organization’s existing strategic plan. The organization implemented its own donor research function so that it now has the capability to identify potential donors and obtain critical information about other major prospects. The client also implemented a shift from low level giving to major gifts and created a Major Gifts function within the Fund Development Department. The Board now better understands the importance of 100% participation in the annual giving program. The agency has developed new organizational goals, created a better system of identifying donor and leadership prospects, and has shifted its staff composition to reflect a more contemporary and efficient working department.
