Internships with EHL Consulting

As an intern at EHL Consulting, you will gain a working knowledge of fundraising practices, a skill set that is critical to master in today’s economy and competitive philanthropic environment.

You will also develop an enhanced understanding of organizational development by working with several diverse nonprofit institutions being served by EHL Consulting.

Internship Expectations

  • Participants will practice and improve skills in writing, research and managing client relationships; and
  • Interns will work with members of the consulting firm and perform activities to support the firm’s relationships with its clients.

Internship Responsibilities 

  • Research on prospective funders (individuals, foundations, corporations, government entities);
  • Writing promotional and related materials for client use;
  • Drafting letters, reports and other documents related to client services;and
  • Learning about and drafting grant proposals.

Internship Prerequisites

  • An interest in nonprofit organizations and a willingness to learn;
  • An ability to work and think independently; basic computer skills; and
  • a friendly demeanor, good telephone manner and strong interpersonal skills.

All internships are located at the EHL Consulting offices in Willow Grove, PA.

Research and Administrative Internship

As the Research and Administrative Intern at the Willow Grove office of EHL Consulting, you will gain a working knowledge of fundraising practices, a skills set that is critical in today’s economy and competitive philanthropic environment for the growth and well-being of all nonprofit organizations.

In addition to office administration tasks, you would conduct unique research for various clients related to prospective donor identification and stewardship. This is a great opportunity to get hands-on experience utilizing sophisticated nonprofit software, including Donor Perfect and Wealth Engine.

Marketing & Communications Internship

As the Marketing & Communications Intern at the Willow Grove office of EHL Consulting, you will gain a working knowledge of marketing strategies, social media advertising, and fundraising practices, skill sets that are critical in today’s economy and competitive philanthropic environment for the growth and well-being of all nonprofit organizations.

Your responsibilities will include the following: develop marketing and promotional programs to highlight EHL Consulting in philanthropic communities and new target markets; help create a stronger online presence for EHL Consulting; work closely with the firm’s partners and other staff to coordinate and propel strong and creative materials for client campaigns and client needs; and undertake other projects as required to strengthen client relationships.

Research Associate for Israel-Based Giving Report

The EHL Consulting Group is seeking a Research Associate to develop its 2012 Report on U.S. Philanthropic Support for Israel.

The Research Associate will play an instrumental role in developing the 2012 EHL Consulting Report on United States Philanthropic Support for Israel. Under the supervision of the Managing Directors, s/he will research, report and present a cumulative account of major donations that were designated to Israel.

Responsibilities Include:
• Research charitable giving patterns to Israel from United States-based nonprofits;
• Complete a comprehensive sector analysis including, but not limited to, Arts and Culture, Education, and Health and Human Services;
• Identity environmental factors that affect giving trends to Israel;
• Compile data to create feasibility reports;
• Develop a comprehensive report that features an analysis, discussion and set of recommendations for improving philanthropic support to Israel; and
• Participate in meetings and conference calls with Managing Directors and faculty to understand all details of the report.

• Bachelor’s degree required; Advanced degree preferred;
• Fluent in Microsoft Office and online search engines;
• Familiarity with IRS Form 990;
• Innovative and analytical problem solving techniques;
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills;
• Highly organized and professional demeanor;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, and goal-oriented environment; and
• Knowledge of Israel and the nonprofit sector a plus.
