Q. What are the advantages to employing a consultant for our capital and endowment campaign?

A. Fundraising consultants can offer a wide range of professional services that enable organizations to successfully raise millions of dollars. Organizing and managing major campaigns are not simple tasks for the uninitiated.

One example of the help that can be provided by a consultant in the early stages of the relationship is the implementation of a Pre-Campaign Assessment to determine the dollar potential of a campaign as well as uncover obstacles that would need to be addressed to achieve the stated goals. Consultants can also provide enormous support in other areas including, but not limited to, establishing committee structures, aiding in the identification of appropriate leadership, developing donor recognition policies, creating dedication opportunities, training volunteers how to ask for money and developing record keeping and acknowledgement procedures.

Consultants inspire their client organizations. Because a consultant is not focused on the daily operations, he/she brings a broader viewpoint to the organization and can offer the support and guidance necessary to achieve a larger goal than the organization might have previously believed was possible.
